Ford Technology

Ford has been the go-to brand for many drivers for over a decade. Throughout the years, Ford engineers have worked hard to develop innovative technology that changes how we interact with cars. Smith Ford of Lowell is here to help unveil and explain the attributes of the latest Ford technology, such as the Sync4, Co-Pilot 360, the FordPass Connect, and many others. You'll find these technologies in all of the 2022 Ford lineup. Let's take a tour of the different technologies that Ford vehicles have to offer.

Ford Sync4

The Ford Sync 4 is the latest iteration of Ford's high-powered infotainment system that allows users to control music, set navigation, make phone calls hands-free, and perform other voice commands. The Sync 4 provides twice the computing power of the Sync 3, and the touchscreen displays up to 15.5 inches. As a result of the faster processing times, the apps will be more intuitive than ever. Additionally, the Ford Sync 4 offers over-the-air update capability, allowing the infotainment system to improve its systems anytime new updates are rolled out.

New adaptive dash cards allow users to quickly access their favorite functions or apps or recently used apps by displaying them beneath the main area of the screen. These apps are highly interactive as well. For instance, if a card displays music, you can skip or pause a song via the car instead of opening the entire music app.

The primary functions of the Sync 4 are:

Natural voice commands: Users can command the system to make phone calls, find nearby destinations, provide directions or even play music.

Cloud-connected navigation: Receive traffic, weather, and construction updates in real-time.

Wireless compatibility: Connect with Apple carplay and Android auto wirelessly.

FordPass Connect

FordPass is a way to access vehicle features remotely through your phone, such as locking or unlocking your doors, starting or turning off your engine, and locating where your Ford vehicle is parked. There are many other functions like checking your vehicle's health and maintenance status, like the approximate miles, fuel level, and when you need service.

Ford Co-Pilot 360

Ford vehicles have advanced safety and driver-assist technologies to help users stay safe on the road. This safety suite package comes with a wide variety of features like Bluecruise, BLIS with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, pre-collision assist with AEB, intelligent adaptive cruise control, active park assist 2.0, evasive steering assist, and much more.

Bluecruise is a unique autonomous driving function that allows users to operate hands-free. It utilizes features like speed sign recognition, lane centering, and stop-and-go adaptive cruise control to enable hands-free driving.

Another innovative technology is their active park assist 2.0. This feature helps users locate a parking spot and park the car for them. Simply stop your vehicle, shift to the neutral gear and activate the active park assist. Then, all the steerings, accelerating, braking, and shifting will be automated!
